Ignition Casino acquires Bovada Poker

Costa Rica-based online casino operator Ignition Casino has acquired the poker operations of fellow US-facing operator Bovada.

On Tuesday, Bovada announced that its Bovada Poker business had been sold to Ignition’s owner Lynton Limited. The two sites were already sharing the same player pool and will continue to do so until September 30, by which time all Bovada poker players will need to transfer their accounts to Ignition.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, and Bovada offered no explanation why it was getting out of the poker business. The site is no longer accepting new poker customer signups.

However, while Bovada Poker will cease to be at the end of September, Bovada’s sportsbook, casino and race betting products will continue to operate as normal and Bovada Poker players who transfer to Ignition will not have to close their sports or casino accounts.
