Jack Lam had ‘perpetual’ Philippine casino license

Jack Lam’s Philippine casino operations may hold a ‘perpetual’ license, but the country’s gaming regulator say Lam’s never ending party is coming to an end.

Lam, whose Fontana Casino in the Clark Freeport and the Fort Ilocandia casino in Laoag City were recently shut down following Lam being hit with bribery and economic sabotage charges, had a ‘perpetual license to operate’ from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).

Current PAGCOR chair Andrea Domingo made the perpetual claim on Thursday, saying Lam had obtained terms from former Philippine President Benigno Aquino III that automatically extended Lam’s license “forever.”

Philippine Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II claimed last month that Lad attempted to bribe Domingo to allow his illegal online gambling operations at the Fontana to continue while he sought one of PAGCOR’s new Philippine Offshore Gambling Operator (POGO) online licenses.
