Live tournament round-up: a win for Eames, an overlay for party, and more

Four live tournament results to catch up on including a familiar face winning a first Grosvenor United Kingdom Poker Tour Main Event, an overlay in Kazakhstan for partypoker, and news from the World Series of Poker Circuit at King’s.

John Eames has emerged from a shift in focus to capture his first Grosvenor United Kingdom Poker Tour (GUKPT) Main Event win. The Southport native earned £68,350 for winning in Leeds.

Eames has earned over $2.1m in live tournament earnings including numerous European Poker Tour (EPT) $2k Side Event victories, and a World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) gold ring courtesy of a victory in Planet Hollywood back in 2014, beating Matt Berkey, heads-up.

In recent times, Eames has focused on earning a living as a live cash game grinder, rarely appearing in tournaments, and it seems the combination is working out for him. Both his WSOPC win in Vegas and his GUKPT title have come since he has been focused on playing live cash games in the London area.
