Gambling operators have apparently counted the chickens before they’re hatched.

Everything looked pretty golden for Macau days before the mainland’s Golden Week holiday as many integrated resorts in the former Portuguese enclave all reported to have either fully-booked hotel rooms or almost in-full capacity.

The calendar was also taken into account since this year’s holiday period lasts eight days instead of seven. Analysts touted this year’s holiday to be a “Super Golden Week.”

And then the numbers came in.
