Just when you thought the dust was settling a Hours after Wynn Resorts announced yesterday it had formally closed on the $34 million acquisition of a 30-plus acre site to house its controversial gaming resort in Everett, the city of Boston said it was suing the Massachusetts Gaming Commission to potentially block the massive development. As the Boston Business Journal reported, the dueling storylines have once again thrown the Wynn project in question and, once again, raised a sliver of hope that revival of a competing plan at nearby Suffolk Downs, which the city of Boston favors, may still be on the docket.
